'56 Chevy Bel Air1/64 scale casting: Jada Dub City 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air body: The hood and trunk were smoothed and the tail lights were filled. paint: The white and HOK Majik Blue Pearl two tone was taped off freehand and finished off with strips of Bare Metal Foil laid out at the color seam also all done freehand. I had a few accidents with the paint which almost kept the car from being completed. Rather that restrip it which is what I normally would do, I decided to touch up the problem areas and finish it because I don't think I would've had the patience to go through all of that taping and foiling again. So don't look too close because the paint's not perfect but I'm happier to have the car in my display case rather than back in my parts bin. interior/trim: The interior was painted satin almond and more foil rounds out the rest of the trim including lights, grille, window molding and a touch of red paint finishes off the Caddy style tail lights. wheels/chassis: The wheels are Dub City small 5-spokes up front and a set front Big Time Muscle wheels out back. Both axles were raised a little to allow the car to be lowered. Does it roll? I tried to make it roll but in the end I lowered it a little too much and the front wheels rub the fenders so it really doesn't roll. |
