casting:

Hot Wheels Shoe Box

other:

To make this custom Shoe Box, I first disassembled the car, stripped and cleaned the body followed by shaving the door handles, trunk hinges, tail lights and grinding out to make room for bigger exhust pipes. Next came primer, a white base coat, and for color I used House of Kolor Red and Tru Blue pearls to achieve this deep blue to red fade. After a layer of automotive urethane clearcoat, I detailed the window frames and side moldings with chrome foil and added custom head/tail lights covered with a second and final layer of clear. I also added a bigger 8 Crate motor, custom dual mufflers/exaust pipes, detailed the grill and modified the interior so that I could lower the ride height while allowing it to roll smoothly on new wheels including wider and fatter tires in the back.
